Central Heating
for voice, violin, viola, harp and double bass
The composer is inspired by the surrealistic art movement and adapted the French poetry, “Chauffage Central” by Pierre Reverdy (1889-1960), which his work influenced the art movements Surrealism, Dadaism and Cubism. “Central Heating” as a metaphor of a human heart system and romance, in connection with the poet’s lover, the breakdown of the heart system caused the poet to doubt the authenticity of reality. The composer interpretes the text with the addition of movement acting in communication to the imaginary lover and to visualize the illogical and subconscious idea.
