MOVE
for dance and mixed ensemble
“MOVE” adapted Picasso’s etching work “Enlèvement. III, Plate 223 from series 347” (The Kidnap). “Kidnap” in an abstract sense, not only understood by a person being kidnapped, but also in a psychological sense, being moral, mind kidnapped, or more... “MOVE” is a focus on the vitality and roughness of the brushstroke, the tension and anxiety of the fight between the kidnapper and the person being kidnapped, musically achieved by creating a dark musical timbre and texture at the beginning of the music, gradually pushing towards to the climax of screaming and the person being kidnaped crying for help.
